Born in Washington, DC, God allowed and used every experience in every stage and phase of life to prepare Bishop Avery Kinney for leadership and relevant ministry. Ministry then led Bishop Kinney down a road of servant leadership as he functioned as a Minister, Elder, Usher, Deacon, choir member for 22 years, Youth Pastor for 8 years, and senior pastor for 11 years. These assignments have proven provident for the mantle on Bishop Kinney’s life. He has served almost three decades of preaching and traveling the country preaching, teaching and presenting power-packed prophetic messages of healing and deliverance to all ages, backgrounds, and creeds. It is his endeavor to be a friend to the local church by coaching Pastors and leaders through The Leadership Boot Camp which was founded in 2000. It is his mission and mandate to “build leaders that last.” 

Bishop Kinney is a living model of excellence in spiritual fathering and spiritual sonship. His submission and humility are an emblem of wisdom that he shares passionately with the Body of Christ. Bishop engages every assignment with humor, boldness, and clarity with a prophetic edge.

Bishop Kinney is a seasoned visionary, a proud natural, a spiritual father, a kingdom coach, and a motivational speaker, and has yet to reach his fullest potential. He is he husband of Pastor Iris Kinney and they lead The Prophet’s Porch in Richmond, VA.

In 2000 Bishop Kinney founded The Leadership Boot Camp which is an entity of The Activation Center that is committed to providing a conglomerate of resources for successful leadership in various arena's. Bishop Kinney has mentored countless young men and women pursuing spiritual, ministerial, relational and professional excellence.

Bishop Kinney travels as a speaker, clinician, and consultant. His transparency, humor and seasoned prophetic mantle on his life are benchmarks of his bold and highly potent ministry style. In the early years of Bishop Kinney's ministry was met with resistance from those who were tied to tradition where prophetic voices were not welcomed, Bishop Kinney not swayed. He continued to focus on what God instructed him to do in the way He wanted it done in this new era. In his years of being groomed for greatness Bishop Avery Kinney travelled to an extensive number of revivals and conferences and became a notable presence sharing his gift on platforms with many household names in ministry. His gift doesn’t stop at preaching and prophesying, but is underscored by his strong gift of administration.
